One of the greatest mathematics programs I’ve ever used is GeoGebra. If you have not tried out this app or at least seen examples of the awesome, interactive worksheets students, teachers, or anyone interested have made, you are missing out.
GeoGebra is an amazing, user-friendly and free mathematical program that allows the user design and explore mathematical concepts! For example, students and teachers can explore the mechanics of polynomials, discover shape transformations, or even calculus problems!
This app is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux Operating Systems. You can also run GeoGebra in a multitude of ways:
- Install and run on your computer.
- Download and run the portable version without installing the software on your computer.
- Run through your browser using WebStart from the GeoGebra website.
- Install and run the GeoGebra Chrome app in the Google Chrome browser.
- Run on your smartphone or tablet
- And much more to come!
Is there a catch? Sort of. Depending on how you prefer to run the program, you may need to install Java on your computer. However, this may not be the case for too long. Developers of the GeoGebra community are gradually making the program compatible with HTML5.
So what’s the bottom line? This is a fantastic program for all who are interested in mathematics: math majors and non-math majors. Students and teachers will find a plethora materials to choose from to explore and aid them in the learning process. Students, parents, and teachers can benefit from the fact that it simply makes learning about the maths and sciences much more interesting and fun.
I first started using GeoGebra in 2008 and I’ve been a fanatic and having fun with it since! So take this opportunity now to checkout and enjoy this wonderful program!
